Last Saturday, May 20th, we celebrated the final of the 1st Astobiza Cup.
A regatta that ended in celebration party with winners and losers. There was a smart sporting atmosphere.
Rankings remained on the docks and we all raised the glasses to toast ‘Symphony’, ‘Nexus’, ‘Artako’ and ‘Biobizz’ which were the absolute winners in their respective classes.
The distribution of the prizes was accompanied by a gourmet pairing “Astobiza & Amaiketako”.
All the sailors could enjoy Astobiza paired with marinated Amaiketako mussels from the Galician Rías Baixas and spicy Iberian pork sausage from the Alberca.
The tasting continued with Astobiza Late Harvest with a pairing of 5 types of cheeses selected by Amaiketako: Ardigasna Cheese (Ossau Iraty), AOP Cheese (Ossau Iraty), Bleu des Basques Cheese, Tommette with Piment d’Espelette and Cheese from Laxa´s sheep.
In addition the RCMA-RSC offered us a fabulous catering.
This race has marked the beginning of hopefully many more years of Copa Astobiza.
